Renault Car Models in India

Renault is a French multinational automobile manufacturer established in 1899. The company produces a range of cars and vans. Renault entered the Indian market in 2005 when it signed a partnership with Mahindra & Mahindra.

In May 2007 Renault launched its sedan - Logan, through Mahindra Renault, a Joint Venture with the Mahindra & Mahindra group (currently the Logan is being manufactured by M&M under a special licensing agreement).

In June 2008 Renault, Established the Integrated Logistics Network to facilitate the export of automobile components to Renault plants around the world and the Renault DeSign Studio opened in Mumbai. It is one of the 5 satellite global design studios for Renault. In May 2009 Renault inaugurated Renault Nissan Technology and Business Centre in Chennai.

In February 2010 Renault announced the consolidation of its presence in the Indian market (ends Joint Venture with Mahindra's) with plans to open a nation-wide network of Renault branded dealerships and the launch of a range of cars within a year. In March 2010 Renault-Nissan Alliance inaugurated the manufacturing facility in Chennai (investment of Rs. 4500 crores with a capacity to produce 400,000 cars per year).

Since then, Renault launched its popular car Duster which quickly became favourite for many Indian buyers. Recently it also introduced compact sedan Kwid in very effective price range for Indian consumers.
