The proportions seem to be more compact now, mainly due to the drooping roof line and the way its C-pillars merge into the boot. This makes the profile very coupe-like and almost sporty and helps achieve an aerodynamic design.
The Hyundai Elantra gets the power sunroof so now you can enjoy the warm sunshine and fresh breeze for your driving pleasure wherever the sun gleams. Pocket light on the inside of the door handles elegantly guide your hand. And a 16" 10-spoke gunmetal alloy wheels lends a sporty and upmarket appeal.

From outside, the cabin has also transformed in the new Elantra, catering to a more mature car buyer now. The multi-coloured beige-black-silver dashboard with the Fluidic design has been replaced with a classier all-black cabin, a single silver accent dividing the dashboard and a more conventional-looking centre console.
There's soft touch plastic on the top half which gives it a more premium feel and the new 8-inch HD touchscreen is tilted somewhat towards the driver. Like the previous generation Elantra, the new car offers front ventilated seats - a segment first feature which still isn't offered by others here.
Performance
Dramatically optimized driving qualities deliver a powerful, yet a smooth and quiet ride for a dynamic experience second to none. It comes with two engine options - 2.0 MPi and 1.6 CRDi. The new 2.0 MPi Best-in-class Petrol engine is capable of a maximum 152 ps at 6,200 rpm and 196 Nm torque at 4,000 rpm with high fuel efficiency. The petrol engine is capable of giving a mileage of 14.5 kmpl.
U2 1.6 CRDi diesel engine is capable of a maximum 128 ps at 4,000 rpm and 265 Nm torque at 1,900 - 2,750 rpm with best-in-segment mileage of 22.54 kmpl (MT). As per ARAI, the diesel engine manages to get a mileage of 22.3 kmpl.
The optimized suspension design offers an enhanced steering response and better driving experience. Riding comfort is upgraded by efficiently resetting the rear wheel area's spring and shock absorber. And now it comes with Drive Mode Selects which gives an option to drive to choose between ECO mode for higher fuel efficiency and Sports mode for enthralling performance at a press of a button.
Safety and Security
The car is equipped with a 6-airbag system in all the fundamental spots. Elantra ensures reliable protection of all occupants to their destinations. The top variant also get a Hill-start assist control (HAC) so that when approaching sloped roads, the brake pressure is temporarily maintained to prevent the vehicle from a dangerous roll-back. It comes with ABS and EBD standard across all variants. Automatic transmission cars get an electronic stability program. It also come with Auto cruise control (ACC) system which can maintain the vehicle speed that you have set so that you may drive without pressing accelerator pedal.
Besides that, Elantra is loaded with some other cool safety features like safety windows in which sensors automatically lower the windows by 150mm upon detecting any obstructions in the frame. Impact sensing door unlock, unlocks the door automatically for safe and quick exit for the passengers in case of a collision.
