Overview
Mahindra Xylo, the most spacious & comfortable MUV in India that provides greater driving pleasure & has classy styling for road presence. Mahindra Xylo MPV is available in seven and eight seat layout. The athletic appearance and boastful dimensions translate into a spacious cabin that provides space for up to nine people, depending on the variant one picks. Under the hood, Xylo gets an option between 2.5 litre CRDe engine available in BS IV versions and the powerful 2.2 litre mHawk oil burner. Mahindra Xylo comes along with the mighty mHawk diesel motor. There is also an option for a nine seat variant with additional side seats that make Xylo a perfect family vehicle with comfortable space in second and third rows. Mahindra Xylo is accessible in 5 different colors - Diamond White, Dolphin Grey, Java Brown, Mist Silver and Toreador Red.
Exterior
The exterior plays an important role in marking the first impression. The car boomerang headlights with chrome inserts and smoked portions make it look appealing. The bumper and plastic add-ons give it a sporty look. The large Mahindra insignia is chrome plated, with radiator grille surrounding the bright headlamp cluster. The body colored bumpers has a black colored air dam and flanked with fog lamps. The electrically operated ORVMs, 15 inch alloy wheels and footsteps with mud flaps enhance the look of the side profile of Mahindra Xylo. From the rear, you get a view of big windscreen, fog lamps on the bumper and rear washer with an illuminated tail cluster. The sportiness of the MPV is pretty visible in its overall dimensions of 4520 mm x 1850 mm x 1880mm with a wheelbase of 2760 mm and ground clearance of 186 mm.
Interior
Mahindra Xylo is equipped with various storage spaces like a large glove compartment, bottle and cup holders, spectacle holder, foldable snack trays, front seat back pockets, storage in the center console and smaller storage space in the doors make it easy to keep your necessities in check. Xylo is good enough to accommodate seven to eight adults, the interiors boasts of plush luggage space as well. The beige interiors with faux wood inserts and chrome accents look extravagantly beautiful. Interiors are made smart with steering mounted audio controls, cruise control, voice command for headlights, leather upholstery and wipers, DIN Audio with USB interface and twin airbags. The digital drive assist, central locking system, remote fuel lid opener, anti-glare rear view mirror along with sun visor for the driver and front co-passenger enhances the traveling experience with Xylo.
Performance
Mahindra Xylo is accessible with two engine options - a 2.5 litre unit and a 2.2 litre powertrain. The higher capacity 2.5 litre engine produces 94 BHP at 3600 rpm and 218 Nm torque between 1400 to 2600 rpm. When it comes to Xylo, the mHwak engine is mated to 5MT320 gearbox. This amalgamation of pin technology and synchromesh is smoother for reverse gearshifts and known for better efficiency. The ride in Xylo is never a problem with mHawk's willingness to pull even from low revolutions. The five-speed manual is a bit notchy bit it loses up as the kilometers pile on.
Mahindra Xylo has adopted a number of powerful engines which add a great value to its performance. The top model cruises to 100 kmph speed from zero, in 13.5 seconds. The handling does not require much from your side. Xylo has got its design right and the car is sturdy enough to give you a fun filled ride in all kinds of roads. Tyres are available in two sizes-the 205/65R15 tyres are equipped on the entry level variants and high end variants get 215/75R15 tyres. The top spec variant gets alloy wheels unlike rest of the trims in range sporting wheel covers.
Safety and Security
There are certain instances where little technological advancement could make a huge difference to your safety. Xylo has ABS with EBD systems that take care of brakes and ensure that the brakes do not get locked in the time of need. Similarly, the role of air bags is quite important and Xylo has done a decent job there as well. The security of the car has become an increasingly important concern these days and that is the reason Xylo's engine immobilizer plays a key role. The additional features that have been designed to assist the driver, add another level of safety.
