Overview
Datsun GO Plus is the first ever compact MPV from Datsun in India. The car comes in total four trim levels with a petrol engine under the hood. GO Plus is a stretched version of the GO hatchback that aims to provide more style, more seats, better power and more practicality. The multipurpose vehicle (MPV) segment is one of the most looked after segment in India. Most of the vehicles in this segment come with 7-8 seater options, which GO Plus doesn't provide. The car is essentially a 5+2 seater vehicle, with the rear 2 seats essentially being child seats. Datsun GO Plus is accessible in 5 different colours - Blue, Grey, Ruby, Silver and White.
Exterior
The exterior of the Datsun GO Plus looks very decent. It has got a refreshing front and rear look. The front comes with large hexagonal shaped radiator grille in the centre featuring a perforated mesh. The rear comes with a radiant taillight cluster. Its side profile looks quite expressive, thanks to its neatly engraved fenders and expressive lines. The car is built with a decent width of 1635mm along with an impressive height of 1485mm. It comes with a long wheelbase of 2450mm and minimum ground clearance of 170mm. The exteriors can be personalized with aspects like body graphics, a set of stylish alloy wheels, roof rails and a rear spoiler.
Interior
From interior, the cockpit comes with bench seat and the gearbox console is integrated to dashboard. This creates more legroom and shoulder space in the front. It comes with all standard features such as digital tachometer, bench folding of third row seats and remote operation for opening of tailgate and fuel lid. It comes with a 2-DIN based music system including a CD player and an FM radio for enhanced entertainment.
Performance
GO Plus is powered by 1.2-litre petrol engine that is already present in the GO hatchback. The car accelerates to 100kmph in about 15 seconds. Datsun GO Plus has a robust suspension system that helps to keep the car stable and agile on any road condition. The front axle is paired with a McPherson Strut type of system along with double pivot lower arm.
Datsun GO Plus is easy to drive and handle on open and congested roads. The brake works well because of the ventilated discs in the front and drum at the rear. It is pretty easy to drive the car both in city and highway. Though at high speeds there is a fair amount of body roll.
Safety and Security
Driver airbag and manual central locking are available only on the top-spec variant. Other features such as 3 point ELR front seat belts, second row seat belts, third row seat belts, child lock and engine immobilizer are standard on all trims. Comfort features packed inside are drive computer, gear shift guide, follow me headlamps, remote fuel lid opener, accessory socket, heater & blower, air conditioner with filter, remote tailgate opener, front power windows and speed sensitive electric power steering. The brakes of GO Plus are also well set up to offer adequate bite when applied in both city usage and under emergency stop situations.
