Volkswagen Passat Diesel
Volkswagen Passat Diesel
Overview
Volkswagen Passat is one of the largest selling sedans. With its executive mid-sized proportions and luxurious interiors, the Passat has always been the perfect business/family sedan. Based on Volkswagen's MQB platform, the Passat is powered by the 2.0 litre TDI diesel engine developing 177 PS power and 350 NM of torque. Volkswagen Passat variants on offer include Comfortline and Highline. The same simple design that Volkswagen has implemented on the exterior is also continued in the interior of the sedan. Volkswagen Passat is available in 5 different colours - Black-Oak-Brown, Deep Black, Harvard Blue, Oryx White and Tungsten Silver.
Exterior
Volkswagen Passat has enough styling bits to give it a road presence. It gets a chrome grille, LED headlamps and LED tail lamps. The chrome continues to the front bumper and forms a distinct line of trim that runs through the doors. A large gloss black central console, horizontal wooden inserts on the dashboard and AC vents with design extensions are elegant. Volkswagen Passat gets large sunroof, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and the signature analogue clock right in the centre of dashboard.
Interior
From inside, Volkswagen Passat has a simple and functional cabin layout. The cabin comes with leather upholstery, black centre console and an infotainment system. The sedan gets three-zone climate control, electric seats, ambient lighting, and smartphone integration as standard. The front seats are somehow best as they come with a massage function. It represents the best value for those who want a near-luxury midsize car.
Performance
Volkswagen Passat will draw power from the 2-litre TDI four-cylinder diesel engine tuned to produce 174 BHP while paired to 6-speed DSG automatic transmission. There's no manual transmission on offer. There is a sense of solidity in the Passat that you find in the likes of bigger and more luxurious cars. As a long distance cruiser, the Passat is almost unbeatable.
In Passat, there is a perfect body control and balance between ride and handling because of the Adaptive Chassis Control presence. While company doesn't claim any performance figures, there are no issues with cruising at triple digit speed on highways.
Safety and Security
Volkswagen Passat offers disc brakes at all four wheels. The Passat comes packed with many safety features. The range-topping safety equipment includes 9 airbags, hill-start assist, ABS, ASR, ISOFIX and electronic stability program. Passat offers ABS and EBD as standard along with traction control. The sedan not only feels comfortable and solid but is also extremely safe.
